Our group and New Iridium (company co-founded by Chern, former Miyake group postdoc) have been featured in a CSU College of Natural Science article highlighting our project to develop a more efficient synthesis of remdesivir, an antiviral drug for treating severe cases of COVID-19. Our approach involves utilizing Ni catalysis and light-driven methods to replace bottleneck steps in the published synthesis. Read More

Matt and Ryan have founded the company Cypris Materials to commercialize these coatings which are based on chemistry developed in the group in the study of photonic crystals.
